Our first ever watching week at Dorking School of Dance was a huge success. We so enjoyed having all our new pupils performing in front of the parents in our hall in Dorking town centre. Their teacher, Miss Benjamin thought they were all so amazing and enthusiastic, especially in their festive and ballet costumes !

Watching week are a real thrill for all involved, and it gives parents a chance to see their child in action in a class. Although their costumes may look different, and the fact they were being observed by parents, the children did remarkably well, and focused throughout.
Dorking School of Dance started in September 2015 and has opened classes to cater for the younger age groups to start with. Miss Benjamin has been working hard with the children and as you can see, they are all in lovely first position - what stars they are!
The school is run by experienced dance staff from the Reigate School of Ballet (the leading dance school in Reigate and Redhill for over 50 years) - the principal is an ex-Royal Ballet trained dancer, so although the school is new, the staff are extremely profficient dancers and have been teaching pupils to dance for a number of years - please see our dance teacher page.
We are a nurturing community of dance staff and our lovely Dorking pupils will have the opportunity to dance on a large professional stage next summer. In the meantime, Miss Benjamin and all the other staff will be carefully planning the children's classes, ensuring their technique are developed, but at all times making sure WE ALL HAVE FUN!
Have a happy Christmas from Dorking School of Dance, and hope to see you in the New Year.
