1st Watching Week at Dorking School of Dance

December 4, 2015

....above - 2 of our numerous classes posing for a Christmas photo - and why not!

Our first ever watching week at Dorking School of Dance went down a treat. Many of the children came in very festive outfits - don't they all look gorgeous! Parents, if you have any more photos, please send them to us, and we will post them on our news page. Hopefully we will have more to follow.

Watching weeks are invaluable as the firstly allow everyone to meet the teacher (Miss Benjamin) and ask about their child's progress, and secondly they give children an avenue to perform in front of a small audience. No doubt, our little dancers will have their opportunity to dance on a professional stage next year, so these small steps in our local hall is an invaluable experience for them.

Dorking School of Dance was formed only in September of this year and already we have a good core of pupils starting with us. We believe in making dance fun, but also ensuring the correct techniques are learnt at an early age, so that other dance disciplines can be developed.

Our other older pupils will be performing in the Dorking Halls this Christmas, and this will be a professional experience for all concerned to perform in the big hall. All pupils in our school will be performing next year at the Harlequin Theatre in Redhill during the summer months, so we will be preparing when the school re-opens in the spring term.

Please remember if you have any questions, do give us a ring on 01737 247795 or email us. Our ethos is to ensure everyone enjoys their dancing and that they have enough opportunities to develop as individuals.

From all at Dorking School of Dance,

Have a Happy Christmas!
